Back to reality

Its Sunday night after an 11 day vacation.  My alarm will go off at 5am tomorrow…if the kids let me sleep in that long. The week before vacation we were up be for 5pm but then on vacation they “Slept in” till about 530.  The good thing was that we could take the day slow at our pass.  So what is the good thing about going back to work getting back on routine!  Much needed!!

I had high hopes for the week of vacation to get so many projects done. well most of them did not get done till today.  I was finally motivated and at a point with everything else that I could take the time to do it!

I started this morning with cleaning out all the cupboards in my kitchen!

My seasoning cupboard was out of control.  I had so many duplicates and baking items with the others.  I took everything out and started over!

Then I moved onto the pantry and did the same thing

The kids helped me with the bowl cupboard we took out anything that didn’t have a lid and any lid that didn’t have a bowl! this was how tyler wanted to stack them!

Even my baking closet got a makeover.

I feel so much better, there are a few things still on my to do list.  Like the hall closet (I did clean the mudroom closet on Friday), the basement, the laundry room, cleaning Tyler’s dresser and the bin of clothes I have to sort out.  Thankfully the laundry is done!

Now I did make use of my extra baking soda!  I have all these extra socks with holes in them.  I poured banking soda into two of them that had been doubled up. I used a cup to help me pour the baking soda into them.

now I can slide these into my gym sneakers after my workouts and they can absorb that great smell!  it was so fast and easy.  I only doubled them because of the holes, but I think they will still be able to work because they are not thick.  These are my work dress socks that are so thin.

Also on my to do list was running.  We are going to the indoor water park in 33 days.  33 freaking days. I am excited but nervous.  In 2010 I lost 50 pounds.  But I am still overweight and still not where I want to be.  Especially for a bathing Suit.  I just feel when people see the photos they will be more judgmental.  “She lost 50 pounds and still looks like that"?” So then what did I do..I tried on my bathing suit.  Yeah just to add to my lack of confidence.  it fits the small one from 2 years ago but I just want to look better.  So here is where running comes in.  my 2011 bucket list has “run a 5K” so I figured I would give it a try.  I ran 2.2 miles in 30 minutes that is like a 15 minute mile.  that really will not cut it.  I need cut that time down some to about 12 or 11 minute.  I think I did a 10 minute mile in high school once.  On my fridge is a count down to the water park with big letters “Do you really want to eat that?”  just to make me keep that door shut.  I would hang up a photo of me in the bathing suit but I don’t want to scare the kids!

Well I need to go make my very healthy lunch.  I will be eating very clean and well the next 33 days.  and I will be working out any chance I can!

Sunday Update

I know i have posted alot this weekend. But i dont plan to be on the computer much this week. We have something going on every night until next Monday. All this to only be complicated by the possibility of getting stuck at work. Which really I can not because i have early leave on Tuesday/Wednesday, David can not pick tyler up on Thursday or Friday. So hopefully tomorrow is an okay day!

So here is our Garden update before we get into the other ramblings!

This is my sad basil. Believe it or not it has made a comeback. I moved it out of another planter and into these. I would like to add a few more to make the railing full! Maybe some cascading flowers...hmm ideas!

I really didnt think my Oregano would grown in this pot since it can get so big. I read (after planting) that they can grow up to 18" dude that is like a landscape plant! I filled in the blanks with some hens and chicks!

This was some landscaping I did this spring. Again, I didnt read too well! The green plants with red flowers were not suppose to get this big or so i think i read!!! oops they are bigger then the purple plants. I dont think david likes these, he said something about cutting them but i like the looks of it! better then nothing.

This afternoon we were down to only 3 pheasants. I called them Hewie, Dewey and Louie but tyler calls them Sqwiggity, Wah, Wah. Crazy kid. If they make we will call them, Hope, Pray and Miracle!! Poor things. By this evening we are down to one, I call him Miracle and david calls him Rambo. Not sure what we are going to do.

3 of our friends are moving out of state. Chris and Bobby are going to texas...Like I want to visit texas. ugh. They sold us their gym, i have to get back into shape somehow after Emma gets here. The gym is up and in the basement, David and Pappy are going to be sore tomorrow because they had to test everything out. Tyler had to get into the action and show them how its done!!

I cleaned out the finale closet!! Thank god that is done. Now we just need to do about 9000 other things around the house. Honestly the only thing bugging me to clean is 4 windows, put a few things i took downstairs today into storage bins and wash the bottles for Emma. I do need to bring up some things for Emma but that is a david task. Well, Tyler and i took a break in our cool dude shades!! Got some rays. Ugh i hate being prego, we didnt sit out long.

Nesting??

Am I nesting?? NO we just got our pheasants!! haha. So they arrived but according to the hatchery there was a major problem with all NY bound shipments. Needless to say we are proud parents of about 5 babies not 30. We will be getting a new shipment in about 2 weeks.

Last night I did stay up till 11 cleaning, excuse me -organizing, the basement. I don't think I am nesting i just feel very overwhelmed. Maybe because i feel like i am being squeezed out of my own body by this little diva in me! Despite the fact we have spent a lot of money on organizing and i have gotten rid of so much stuff i still feel like we do not have enough room in this house.

I have about 20 bins of items in the basement, now nicely stacked and labeled. We had planned on doing a garage sale but decided to put it off till next summer when we will have so much baby crap. Plus i honestly did feel up to it (Can u blame me?). But now one whole corner in the basement is just jam packed with stuff.

Last night i weed one of the gardens! David is doing the rest today for me. I did pick some of our radishes! I don't eat them but I am excited to see them!

OK time to run, i need to clean, get tylers haircut, then run into hannafords to get somethings we forgot yesterday, go to Chris and Bobby's and get the gym stuff we purchased from them (I have to get this body back in shape) and lots more to do!!!

Question? How can a house get so dirty in 20 minutes but take 2 hours to clean?? hmm???

Tyler the little builder

We had a crazy weekend but still were able to get alot done! Dad and David worked on the "Cat Cage" Okay really its a bunny cage because we are getting a bunny but we have not told tyler because he would want it now!! So Tyler thinks its for Pappys nonexistent cat...this lie is so going to come back and bite us in the .....!!! Tyler had to go downstairs and help build it! this is him going down the stairs with all his tools. He was so fast i had to snap this photos 1/2 down the stairs. He wouldnt wait for me at the top. He was too busy. He hit the bottom step and yelled i love you mommy bye!


David worked on the these stairs as well, he remudded spots and sanded. hopefully we can throw some paint on it soon! i didnt want to paint the stairs but they need something...ideas welcome.

I finally organized my craft center. I did alot of downsizing!! i found alot of things i have not used. I took 2 boxes to aunt Laurie's for the girls to go Thur. I am not sure what i am doing with the rest ..if your looking for anything let me know!! i organized the shelves to hold all of tylers craft things! paper, coloring books, stickers, Bins for tools and projects things. He asked me tonight if i was going to share my things with him!!!

We have cleaned alot of items out of the baby's room, tyler is stressing over it. He doesnt want his toys moved! i can not wait for spring he has so many things that can go outside. My friend Jenny saw signs of spring at her house, i am still looking here! Promising that i have seen so many geese flying around!!

The baby's name is going to be Emma Jane. Tyler know that his sister is Emma. When i ask him to say Emma Jane, he Says Emma Jeans! how cute! i have been looking for bedding and found some but the pricing is so outrageous. I am thinking about making my own. I made bumpers for the camper before, i can make curtains and blankets. What else do i need? We can not put a bed skirt on our crib so that is out. I have to visit the fabric shop!

I can not believe I am having another baby and Logan is already 4. We had his bday party on Saturday...it was so much fun! On friday tyler and i went to help get ready for the party. I have uploaded some photos to webshots: logans bday, Elmo, a video of tyler acting like Mirasty!

Well i need to run this time change has me out of order! I took a power nap tonight and didnt hear my sister come to my house!

behind the times

well first of all today i went thru alot of things. Emptied out my scrapbooking cabinets that are in the future babyroom. I have 2 large boxes for the girls to go thru on tuesday! I still need to sort my paper and put everything away but i am behind on time today! My trip to walmart involved an extra bath for tyler; who managed to pee his pants in the car. So i had some laundry to do too! David and dad took the cabinets downstairs so hopefully by next week everything will be out of that room and i can clean the carpet.

I am so behind the times. I have CDs and MP3 player. But i still buy CDs. Why dont i just buy the mp3s online and download them?? seriously i have an entire desk drawer full of CDs...what do i do with them? Let me know if you are interested in any of them! haha From Kid rock to Nickelback. I am so annoyed with the junk in my house. My garage sale pile continues to grow. the thing is i dont know where to get the mp3 online with out risking viruses...i know i know evern the 12 year old across the street knows where to go. I wonder if he will show me. I feel so old on this crap and i am not even 30 yet!

In other news, tyler like to show me what the naughty hockey player does (he calls Mirasty naughty because he hits people and goes to time out!). Mirasty aways makes this gesture after a fight and tyler likes to do it...but then tyler tells me that is for naughty guys. He then shows me what a hockey player does when he gets a goal! Tyler just jumps up and down and yells! its very funny.
He is insistent that he has a tail - this has been going on for about 2 weeks...he wags it and everything! I guess it is in place of an imaginary friend. Also each day he is a new animal; usually he is tyler kitty, but today he was tyler pig...he was snorting omg it was so funny. I was laughing so hard i was snorting! i would of taped it but you would of only heard me!

I so do not want to go back to work tomorrow.....i think that is why i am playing on the Internet! More later.....if i every get up to date on this new technology.

Organized Croup

Yes i spelled that correctly. This weekend we had planned to focus on getting the house organized and more efficient. Well Tyler came down with Croup on Friday! Luckily he was acting fine other then the random cough so we continued on with our plan.

Here are the finished products before i tell the weekend story! I love it! Its like a lodge!

Friday night we did a lot of the running around so that saturday we could just start. Tyler hung out at Gramie's. David had started the Mudroom on Thursday, so on saturday he hung all the bead board and moldings. My dad came over and put together my new storage units for the craft area. I worked to move the computer to the foyer and cleaned out the desk. I found so much old crap in there, like bank statements from 2005. Our house was so trashed on Saturday. This photo is from like 10am saturday morning.I was trying to go thru the desk and dust things. This will become the new craft area. Tylers play-dough, paints, markers and papers along with some of my scrapbooking stuff.

By Sunday, the old desk was down stairs all cleaned out. I have box of things to burn and box of things to sell in garage sale or donated to a rummage sales. David started making the cubes to hold things in the Mudroom. I slowly began to clean the toy/scrap room. My counter top in my scrap area is being moved to where our old desk is. I am about 1/2 with clearing that off, sadly my dinning room table has so much crap on it still. I have not sorted any of my scrapbooking stuff out yet. I know i have things i dont need.

Sunday afternoon tyler took a turn. The last time he ate was 11ish, he spiked a fever at 102 around 5pm. He was really just out of it from 3pm on. So today, Monday, I have stayed home with him. I slept holding him from 12-3 and then 4-7 last night. This morning he seems fine but still will not eat. Over the weekend he was feeling so good. We got him outside to get that good air in him. He made a snowman and went sledding.

I hope he gets better soon!

I am not a professional organizer, i need to give it my 100% attention in order to keep things some what in the right place. I would love to be those people you see on tv with everything in its place and labeled. But this weekend, i had my organization groove on. I am happy with what we were able to get done. But i have questions? I put all my CDs on my computer and on my MP3 player - so do i really need to keep them? They are taking up 1/2 a drawer in the old desk down stairs. Same with the DVDs, they are all in a binder, do i need to keep the cases?

The biggest question i had over the weekend....How did we accumulate all this crap?

bids wanted!!

Anyone interested in my HP Photosmart M425 Camera with Docking station? I purchased it in 2006 - it works fine, some times it locks up but david thinks its because the batteries i used in it are on their last life. I have dropped it a few times so as it opens you feel a click.

I paid like 120 for the camera and 50 for the Docking station. If you want, place an offer. By Sunday i will be posting it online!

What did i learn today?

We have been trying to have tyler go all night without a pull up. Last night was the first accident. This morning david put the bedding in the wash for me. I went down to put that load in the dryer and wash the comforter just a few moments ago.......

Not thinking we have a mattress protector or plastic sheets, whatever you want to call it. Well guess what i grabbed it out of the washer, turned to put it in the dry when i got completely soaked. The way it balled up in the rinse cycle, allowed it to keep about 1 cup of water in the middle of it! I must of turned it just the right way to dump it on me. Can you imagine if I had put it in the dryer with that much water? Silly mommy! - that was tylers response!

Making room for baby

This weekend we are going to start making room for baby. Our first project really has nothing to do with the baby but with satisfying me! We are making storage cubes in the mud room so that area is more useful! there will be a bench for tyler to sit on and lots of storage. The closet is going to get a cleaning too. David, tyler and Dad already took the boarder down and painted the top of the walls. The bottom will have bead board.

Also this weekend, i am going to clean out my scrapbooking stuff...stand by for amazing deals! we are going to turn our desk area into a craft area..kinda. i found some good units at Target that we are going to go get. We are trying to figure out what to do with the computer. Our original plan was to move the big computer thing in tylers room that was housing toys, to the foyer and put the computer there. But David hates so i dont know what is going to happen.

Anyway we will be busy, the Honey do list was 25 items long for the weekend! Today I am going to the doctor, hope to schedule my sono appointment the next few weeks to find out if its a boy or a girl! after that ty and i are going grocery shopping. Well I need to blow dry my hair and eat some carbs!

Tylers New Room!

Check it out we have tylers room complete. I actually feel that its complete, i mean maybe i will hang some thing up on the one wall by the window or put something else on the dresser. However, if i never do its okay with me! i am really proud of how it turned out. I feel like the bed side is from a magazine. I need something to improve the dresser side but like i said its okay for now! He seems to like it!




These are tylers fish, Nemo and Nemo too! I had been dropping hints that i wanted tyler to have some fish and David was not into it. So today the bad wife that i am, i took comp time from my trip and left work around 1pm. I picked up tyler and headed to walmart! We purchased our new members of the family!! We were at home trying to set up the fish tank when david came home. I was trying to get tyler to not tell him but he was too excited!. Daddy daddy, come see my fishy! Bad wife bad!!!

Well I need to do the dishes, fold 3 loads of laundry, wash another 2, and start cleaning the toy room. Our weekend does not exist this weekend. Friday is my birthday, after work I need to get the rest of the goods for tylers party. Then Saturday is Tylers birthday!! David is probably going hunting that morning so i think i may take tyler for breakfast! Then i want to take him to toys r us, since he has his birthday club card. I need to run to the sauquoit valley craft show but we have a wedding at 3 or 4 in syracuse. I still need to find a sitter for tyler. somewhere in there i need to make all the cup cakes. My goal for this week is the clean the entire house by Thursday night so that on sunday we just need to do the floors, clean the bathrooms and get ready for the party! Thank god i have Monday off!

4 Days and Lots of information

First of all, i did not want to update my blog because i loved that photo of Mirasty and I as the first thing you saw when you opened the page! I took some crap from people because they said that it is szarek website and he had no place on it. ... well too bad. I am the one that does the updating!

So here is our crazy week that we have had. On Monday David and my dad (pappy) put in the hardwood floors in the dining room and foyer. They started sometime after 9am and finished up around 4pm. They came out really well! they did a great job! I tried to help picking out boards...even cut a few! but i was not a key player! Tyler was interested in hitting the boards for all 10 minutes. but he did get geared up for the job!! Safety first with Tyler the builder!!!

Well that shot Monday, we didnt do much else! In bed by 9pm! It took me time to reorganize the furniture in the living room since we took out the 1/2 wall. Plus i had alot of cleaning to do. funny story....when the flooring was about 80% complete i jokingly told david....maybe we should take down the wall between the dining room and the foyer! I thought he was going to kill me! i was just kidding!! Wait till i tell him what i want to do with the Kitchen!! I asked David if he wanted us to put hardwood floors in the kitchen and he said nope. So if I want new flooring in there i will need to get tile i guess.

Other house news: I put up my fall decorations. No Halloween stuff yet just my fall leaves! get us in the festive mood! I really want some homemade mac n cheese or chicken riggies. Every year i try and decorate on Labor day weekend. I guess i missed it by a day!! close enough for gov't work!

Garden update

Peppers!! Wednesday was crazy, we had dinner, and then worked in the yard! Tyler picked up all the apples that fell so that some day david can mow the lawn! I had some red peppers ready, so i thew them on the grill and roasted them! I now have 8 roast red peppers to use! I love roasted red peppers! in salads, in pasta, on sandwiches. "YUMM-O" Rachel Ray. Bye friday or saturday i will have more to do! its so easy and its saves you so much $$ they are so expensive in the store.

Tomatoes: I still have so many tomatoes left. i could make more sauce but blah...Not really in the mood! lol !! I stole an idea from Jenny! I put some on my dehydrator and by this morning I had sun dried tomatoes!! I still have 29 tomatoes left. I think i am going to freeze them so i can use them this winter. I have searched for great ideas, some are pretty good but i want something quick i have played with too many tomatoes this year!

Zucc: I still have a ton left. I found a apple zucc bread recipe that sounded yummy i may try that. Since i how have sun dried tomatoes and roasted peppers, i figure i will be making some yummy dips so i am drying some thin zucc to see how they taste as chips. If the chip idea doesnt work out i will throw them in soup! In the last 2 nights i have made 4 more loaves of zucc bread. I dont know what else to do with it.

Squash: i am ready to put it by the road with a free sign. we have so much its out of control.

so that is about it on the home front. I will be at girls weekend from saturday morning till sunday afternoon! i can not wait to go scrapping!! Starting Monday, work is going to suck...OT most every night and on weekend. 26 days to go!! I will be living off coffee! Glad the crunch open up on 13 October! and NHL like the last full week of September. I will need to get my frustrations out! So what do you think of the hockey mom running for VP???

I know that tyler has said some funny things but i am really tired i can not think of anything at the moment. Have a great weekend!

MIRASTY!!!!!!!!!!!! :P UPDATED

Yes i get whatever I want! I met Jon Mirasty today. He signed my jersey!! and some other things for us! Plus i got my photo taken with him!! Yes i touched him and no i didnt get arrested!!

Great PHOTO DEAR! I told david it he photo came out bad i would sign divorce papers.

We went up to the state fair at 1pm and met up with the McKenzies - yes they had to get his autograph too! They know he is the best! I make a b-line across the fair to find him - everyone had a hard time keeping up with me! I guess they need to get in shape. Never come between a girl and her hockey player!! After the autograph we basically left. David thinks it was the most expensive autograph ever! but its so worth it! Beside who is david kidding = he knows that he will benefit from it!

We also froze corn this morning. Bernie, Denise, and Grandma came over for breakfast. Then we did 10 dozen corn - 36 bags!! Another job done!! The freezer is getting full but bernie thinks we need more :S So its been a busy day with more to come!

In other news on the day, last night we went to Home depot to get hardwood flooring. David thinks we need 9 boxes i think we need 8! We will see who wins! This evening we are going to start getting the old flooring up in the dinning room so that tomorrow we can lay the new flooring. We are the only people that work on labor day! More to come on this!!! Work in Progress!

UPDATED at 932pm - we have removed the wall between the rooms, and pulled up the old flooring in the dining room. We still need to pull the flooring up in the entry! Tomorrow we will start laying it. I have some photos of our progress and our little helper! The highlights tonight have been: David broke his crow bar and smacked his knee. I broke a finger nail and lost a toe nail.

BUT I GOT TO MEET MY HOCKEY PLAYER! AND HAVE MY PHOTO TAKEN WITH HIM!! CAN YOU TELL THAT I AM HAPPY? okay i have some photos to print!
